Ktm With A 116 Link Chain What Gearing
It arrived with me, with 14 / 45 gearing and a chain 114 links long. Rear wheel is a fair way back in the swingarm slots, and i have perhaps 1.25' between rear tyre and the rear crap-flap. Anyone know / can work out from what they are using if i can use 14 / 47 with a 114 link chain without any issues???. Jan 26, 2013 I recently changed my sprockets and chain, bought a 120 links chain but it was too long so i took away to links. 118 Links was still to long, took away 4 links, now fits perfectly. I like a short wheelbase on my bike, i can guarantee that 116 link will work as well with stock gearing. Re: Switch to 48 tooth rear sprocket « Reply #4 on: April 11, 2014, 01:52:11 pm » I've been reading that the 48 drops the speed in first gear at 1k rpm from 5mph to 4mph something i would be interested in also, i feel it would help in the tight stuff. I thought i might gain enough slack after a couple of chain adjustments?
Hey there guys/gals,
I need to get new sprockets and a chain for my 06 Ninja 650R. My question is. does brand really matter for sprockets? I heard that you can't go wrong with DID chains.however they have multiple types? Which one would be best for my bike, which is mainly used for commuting during weekdays, twisties on weekends, and a first trackday in the somewhat near future?

Also for sprockets do i have to change the rear and tiny front one at the same time? Someone mentioned you can go 2 rear sprockets for every 1 front. however not sure how that would affect wear. Again, any suggestions?
Pen drive showing empty. Greatly appreciated!
ninja edit: is it hard to put a new chain on? I have no experience doing this and dont have a chain breaker thing.
