Forums Skyrim Skyrim:Mouse and Keyboard not working Ok. Basically I have been playing for 90+ hours. Downloaded the HD texture update. Played another 10 hours or so. Then suddenly. Yesterday evening. I start the game. Only to find no mouse cursor and the keyboard direction arrows.

  1. Skyui Not Working Special Edition 1

I have problems with getting mods to work with Skyrim. I have done the following:

  1. Installed Steam at C:My docsAppsGmzSteam (that is to say, not Program Files)
  2. Got Skyrim Special Edition as a gift on Steam. Installed it.
  3. Installed Skyrim Script Extender for Skyrim SE
  4. Installed Nexus Mod Manager
  5. Installed mod/plugin SkyUI (and also others) and activated it/them
  6. Starting the game through skse64_loader.exe

My problem is that the game does not load. When I click skse64_loader.exe to run it, it does not run. When I disable the mods/plugins in NMM, the game launches as usual. I really don't get what's wrong. I have tried re-installing everything 100 times now. No difference.

Thanks!

This is an extremely common issue. It means that one or more of your mods is malfunctioning, usually because of a conflict between two mods. This is why the order of how your mods load in Skyrim is important, as well.

Example:

Mod A adds NPCs, and homes them at Pinewatch. It mods Pinewatch in a way that makes sense for the mod.

If you're after mods that totally changed the way games are played, check out our list of the.1. Games once lost, but now refreshed a new.As part of, we look at the best PC mods that extend the gameplay of our favorite games. Free games with mods. DayZ (ARMA 2)No list covering the most influential mods in history would be complete without the mod that helped popularise an entire genre - one that still dominates headlines and streaming platforms today.Built using the engine and basic assets of military simulator ARMA 2 (and one of its expansion packs, ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead), creator Dean ‘Rocket’ Hall envisioned a survival sim where a player would spawn in large map with no resources of weapons. The aim was to scavenge for gear, while avoiding or defeating both other players and AI controlled zombies.

Mod B replaces Pinewatch with a 12 story wizard tower. It appears lower in the load order.

Skyrim then loads A, and B, and when the assets for mod A are replaced by those from B during startup, the game crashes.

That's a really rudimentary explanation and a situation that doesn't always cause a crash, but you get the idea. Other things that can cause this include trying to load an Oldrim mod into Skyrim Special Edition, major game overhaul mods conflicting, or even a patch to Skyrim that breaks certain things.

To prevent this, I follow the following steps:

  1. Keep track of which mods do what and avoid situations where two mods accomplish the same basic task
  2. ALWAYS READ THE MOD DESCRIPTION FOR A CONFLICTS SECTION
  3. Use a mod manager like NMM
  4. Use LOOT to sort the mods for you. It will not only sort your load order, but it will notify you of detected conflicts before you try to run anything.
  5. Install your mods only 4 or 5 at a time, then see if you can load the game. that way, if you get a crash, you know which group of 4-5 mods to investigate.
  6. Make sure the mods you have also have any compatibility patches made for them to interface with other mods installed.

When it's already happened and I'm crashing on boot or on entry to an area, I do the following.

  1. Ensure all mods installed are using their newest versions
  2. Untick all of my mods in my mod manager and boot Skyrim. if it works, I tick 5 mods at a time and keep booting that way until I find the one that is causing the issue
  3. Look for new compatibility patches on the affected mod
  4. If all else fails, uninstall the mod completely instead of just disabling it.

Welcome to modding Bethesda games.

This sounds like SKSE is causing the crash. That is not surprising tho: The current version of SKSE for SkyrimSE is an alpha version that contains quite a lot of bugs. It's still in development.

Current SE build 2.0.6 (runtime 1.5.23): 7z archive - ALPHA BUILD. MODDERS ONLY. DO NOT ASK FOR SUPPORT.

I'd refrain from using SKSE for Skyrim:SE because it's very likely to result in crashes and/or will only work under certain circumstances. Modding skyrim is frustrating enough, there is no reason to make it even more frustrating.

If you want to make 100% certain that SKSE is not causing the crash, install skyrim, install skse for skyrim se and then start the game without any mods. If it still crashes, it's skse. If not, you might want to post your full modding list, but I'm fairly sure its skse.

I found that Skyrim SE would not run through SKSE with SkyUI enabled, but it would run with SkyUI disabled. Got so frustrated until I redownloaded SkyUI, saw that the version for SE had not ever been downloaded from my Nexus account. I was trying to run the wrong version! Trying to run vanilla Skyrim mods with Special Edition can cause a failure to launch the game. I assumed something to do with my inexperience with modding PC games was to blame. (Upgraded my PC start of 2019, and have only just started playing Skyrim on PC vs PS4).

I am using Mod Organiser 2, and adjusting my load order according to the Master List document, and by adding and testing one mod at a time. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ouzi9f0dma00yhd/Skyrim%20Recommended%20Mod%20Load%20Order%20-%20Master.docx?dl=0

Why am I doing it manually? Because Loot causes an error everytime I try to use it! Ah well. At least I've been able to try out some new content already.

3D Vision fix for Skyrim Special Edition, which uses a DirectX 11 renderer. Made by masterotaku and DJ-RK. It was possible to do thanks to the 3Dmigoto developers.
Download link v9 (7z) (yes, the file still says v8. That's normal) in the installation steps.
Link updated on 2019-07-04.
Changelog (last update: 2019-07-04)
v9:
- Updated 3Dmigoto to 1.3.16.
- The crosshair and HUD are now dynamic by default, because it's what I use the most.
- Better god rays fix, with good convergence scaling (rays sticking to surfaces).
- 'Fake' water reflections are now at full depth. It's more realistic than before. Use the F6 hotkey to return to the old behavior.
- Fixed screen space reflections, partially. They are good now for horizontal surfaces like water, but vertical surfaces (like some walls) are still be imperfect.
v8 (IMPORTANT):
- Updated 3Dmigoto to 1.3.11 (compatible with ReShade, as I've tested).
- I have made the crosshair truly dynamic. Remember to press the '.' hotkey once, twice or three times to use it.
- 120Hz are forced in 'd3dx.ini'. Change 'refresh_rate=120' to something else or comment it if 120Hz isn't your refresh rate.
v7:
- Updated 3Dmigoto to 1.2.50. It solves an issue with the dll.
v6:
- Added another fixed water shader.
- Updated 3Dmigoto to the 1.2.49 version. That means that importing a profile isn't needed anymore. Fake 3D is disabled by default.
v5:
- Added another shader to the bloom toggle (bloom lens flares).
- Changed the HUD on/off hotkey to 'k' instead of 'l', to not interfere with the map.
- Changed the SLI compatibility bits in the profile.
Fixed
- Shadows.
- Water and its reflections.
- Snow particles on surfaces.
- Skybox (clouds, sun, moon, stars, etc).
- God rays.

Not fixed
- Screen space reflections are imperfect for the moment.
Installation
- Unzip the contents of the fix (this file) in the root folder of the game ('Skyrim Special Edition'), where 'SkyrimSE.exe' is.
- Launch the game (the normal way or with 'skse64_loader.exe', if you use mods with that need it) and let the game overwrite the profile.
Hotkeys
- 'F1': four convergence presets. Change them in 'd3dx.ini' if you don't like them.
- 'F2': HUD depth presets.
- 'F3': bloom on/off. Not disabled by default.
- 'F4': fog on/off. Not disabled by default and not intended to be disabled.

Skyui Not Working Special Edition 1

- 'F6': fake water reflections depth (surface depth or full depth). Full depth by default.
- 'y': blood on screen effect. Not disabled by default.
- 'v': HUD X axis curvature presets. 0 by default. The other values are 1 and -1.
- 'b': HUD Y axis curvature presets. 0 by default. The other values are 1 and -1.
- 'n': general HUD curvature setting. Curvature is disabled by default.
- '.': dynamic crosshair. Press once to make the crosshair dynamic. Press twice to put the entire HUD at that dynamic depth. Press three times to make every HUD element have its own depth (can be glitchy because it's per vertex). Press four times to disable it. All HUD + crosshair are dynamic by default (so the explanation before doesn't say it in the correct order).
- 'k': HUD on/off. It's on by default. It will disable all menus, letters, cursors, etc.
- '0' (not the numpad): dynamic HUD samples. More samples mean more smoothness but also more GPU usage. 4000 samples by default. Presets are 1000, 4000, 8000, 12000 and 18000.
Pressing 'shift' and one of those hotkeys will make their presets cycle backwards, for those that are more than just toggles (except 0).
FAQ
Q: Does this work with mods?
A: This fix has been tested with the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/266/?) and also with and without some graphical mods, like Realistic Water Two (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2182/?). I have also tried texture mods, which don't modify any shaders and shouldn't give any problems. ReShade works fine as of v8 update.
Q: There are too many hotkeys! They interfere with my custom binds or console commands. Can I disable some of them or change their key?
A: Yes. Open the 'd3dx.ini' file and search the hotkey you want to delete or change. The sections are '[Key1]', '[Key2]' and so on. Delete them and the lines below them, or edit the 'Key = ' line. I have included descriptions so you will know which is which. You can also change the default value of variables. It's above the hotkeys section.
Q: X effect is broken since Y game update or Z essential mod. How can I let you know?Skyui
A: It's probably best if you post in this thread (https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/969381/3d-vision/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-special-edition/1/) rather than in this blog post. But feel free to post here. I'll try to check often.
