  1. Modding Skyrim for /scaly/: An Index of Argonian Mods
  2. By the guy who does a few pastebins for /scaly/
  3. -------------------
  4. 7.1.0 - 21/03/19 (DD/MM/YY)
  5. + Added Beast Race Bodypaints, a warpaint + RaceMenu tattoo mod to help colorize Argonians further.
  6. 7.0.0
  7. Was informed of a few mods and decided to take a browse around the current state of Argonian mods. Tails especially have came to mind after some discussion in a /trash/ thread concerning tail placement and BAT, and after an email got some more recommendations which naturally led to finding more mods. However I haven't played the game for a long time and so haven't tested them as of this writing, but when that happens I'll try to do some compression. Realistically, working on an SE version of this guide won't start until RaceMenu is stable there.
  8. = Separated texture mods for the body and everything else into their own mini-category.
  9. = Added pastebin's highlighting onto category headers.
  10. + Added in a tail mover mod as an alternative to BAT, properly moving female tails to the tailbone..
  11. + ..and also added another tail mod that offers weight-dependent tail thickness and tail moving options.
  12. = The SoS Female Argonian textures once again changed websites. Ultimately, nothing of importance was actually added, changed, or removed.
  13. + Added a link to the SOS horsecock mod it provides a texture patch for.
  14. + Added some suggestions courtesy of a reader. These include:
  15. + A link replacement for HD Argonian Hairstyles, which is now hidden but also bundled with a bunch of other miscellaneous Argonian retextures.
  16. + Unisex Argonian Hairstyles
  17. + And another eye mod, but it's not a replacer.
  18. - Added in a snake-shaped SoS schlong for no apparent reason.
  19. + that author's snake-esque argonian textures tho
  20. = Found some random pack of stuff that dresses up your Argonian like an anthro dragon, jotted down as a footnote with the races section.
  21. 6.2.0
  22. = Added a mirror to the YevMods SOS Female Argonian textures.
  23. - Again updated the Special Edition notice to reflect SKSE's development.
  24. 6.1.1
  25. - Updated the Special Edition notice to reflect SKSE's development.
  26. 6.1
  27. + Found a new UUNP armor/clothing mesh replacer to replace the removed one.

  44. I - OPENING
  45. While the modding community for the fifth Elder Scrolls game has provided a selection of excellent mods to enhance our titty lizards according to one's taste, beast races are very much in the minority for obvious reasons and not as many people like to create for them. This pastebin serves as an index of Argonian-related mods that may be of interest for any fellow degenerate scalefags who might be playing the game. It is not all quality recommendations here, plenty of mods here are listed solely for having options and they are there if you want them; there's more to it than just one set of HD textures or feet. That being said, there will be some quality control.
  46. You might see that I've written down my hot opinions and admitted to having not tried some of these at all. Do not let these get you into downloading select mods at a whim nor veer away from others completely, let your own judgement (or dick) decide what's best. Mods I have not tried just mean I can't really tell you as much about them.
  47. If you wish to contribute your best bet is to fire an email to 'anoninthecloset@gmail.com', so I can update the list with your own personal recommendations and advice accordingly. If there's something wrong here, especially anything taken down (which can be a pretty big deal since modders are known to DELETE FUCKING EVERYTHING), then please say so, let us work together to make this list better.
  48. If you would like to share this pastebin, feel free to do so. You may copy and paste it somewhere else as well as long as your copies have a link back to the original and don't claim credit for someone else's efforts.
  49. II - DISCLAIMER
  50. Though everything linked to here should be safe as houses unless the Nexus gets hacked again, I claim no responsibility if anything bad happens to your install of Skyrim, let alone your computer. While I also don't claim any ownership for any files I may have mirrored, I'm not removing any of them unless they are actually malicious or simply unnecessary.
  51. ---------------------------------
  52. #2 - REGARDING THE SPECIAL EDITION
  53. ---------------------------------
  54. The 'Special Edition' of Skyrim (or SE) was handed out for free for owners of the original release in late 2016, and it doesn't work with most mods made for the older game out of the box on top of also having a very late SKSE release that had set behind the modding scene for a good while, thus causing a divide and parity issues. Neither of the mods listed in this guide have been tested by me in regards to seeing whether they work on SE or not, textures likely will work but again there's been no testing to ensure this. This version of the game however is much more stable than the original, and theoretically provides a much better foundation for heavy modding in the long term.
  55. In the meantime, the guide will only cover the original 2011 release of Skyrim, sometimes just called the Legendary Edition (LE) or even 'Oldrim' in some cases. SE is getting to a point where it's somewhat feasible to migrate to for heavier mod users, but depending on what you want to do it's still effectively limited in some areas and lacks the sheer wealth of choice the original game had. If you intend to roll with SE sometime (yeah we all want to), I suggest waiting until RaceMenu gets a feature complete release for that version of Skyrim.
  56. For the uninitiated, LE is simply a lot less stable in highly modded scenarios and uses a 32-bit executable when everything is pretty much 64-bit now, and lacks a bunch of assorted changes as well as the Creation Club bullshit, but the contennt found in both is ultimately the same. Bethesda has also 'hidden' this version of the game on the Steam store and outright took down the DLC pages, so anyone who doesn't have this version of the game might as well pirate it or the DLC itself. Enderal, a total conversion of the game uses this older version as well.
  57. LE to SE plugin conversion is possible within the Creation Kit, but only do it for personal use. It should also be noted that SkyrimVR does not officially support modding, but it uses the SE version as a base and so modding the VR version is still technically doable by all means, although not all mods will work or be 1:1 with each other.
  58. --------------------------------
  59. #3 - PREREQUISITES
  60. --------------------------------
  61. I assume you are already familiar with modding Bethesda games to an extent. You can ignore this section if you more or less know what you are doing.
  62. If you are new to modding the game, please don't just jump to installing the mods listed here, you will very much be biting off more than you can chew. As of this writing, /tesg/ has a solid modding guide I suggest going through. You can end up spending an entire afternoon or even days playing around with mods, so start when you have spare time.
  63. https://www.tesgeneral.com/essential
  64. Don't forget about the pages listed in the drop-down menus on the bar.
  65. I - MOD MANAGERS
  66. The current iteration of the software is Mod Organizer 2, but as of this writing it does have some issues with Skyrim LE. Reason being that Wrye Bash simply does not want to cooperate, and so it fucks up your load order entirely on exit. While apparently fine as-is for SE users and that MO2 does technically work fine itself for the older game, LE players (of which this guide is written for) should look into the legacy download option for Mod Organizer 1 to avoid as much potential cross-program fuckery, since it was actually designed around LE to begin with.
  67. You can get either version here:
  68. -https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6194
  69. Though the main reason it is recommended is largely due to the virtual file system - which makes it easier to switch mods around more freely (on top of other perks too) without overwriting any assets, also making your actual 'data' folder a virgin, the alternative - Nexus Mod Manager, frankly had quite a rough history of being bad software and also is ultimately deprecated by the Nexus itself. Meanwhile, Vortex is the new official mod manager spearheaded by the guy behind the first MO but it turns out it's not any good either.
  70. Wrye Bash is usually treated as a mod manager (especially for Oblivion), but these days everyone only wants it for the Bashed Patch function in pretty much any other Beth game. It helps reduce mod conflicts and can merge very lightweight mods into itself to free up plugin space.
  71. TL;DR: MO1 for LE and MO2 for SE, use Wrye Bash exclusively for the Bashed Patch tool. Avoid using NMM/Vortex.
  72. II - WEBSITES
  73. Mod manager talk aside, get an account for Nexus Mods so you can download the majority of files. It's totally free, they just happen to have a subscription option for those who want to donate dosh. By the way, just be careful about what you say there because they don't take shit and ban without a second thought; Trainwiz, a profilic modder and train enthusiast on 4chan, was banned there for just saying someone's followers looked like aliens. Even in discussions you can notice others talking passive-aggressively often, well aware of the banhammer.
  74. If you intend to get mods from LoversLab, an adult modding community, sign up there as well. And no, you won't get computer AIDS there, they're fine.
  75. If you're gay (or just want /fit/ Argonians), then Vector Plexus as of this writing currently holds Shape Atlas for Men and you need an account to download.
  76. I do not suggest using Steam Workshop at all, its method of installing mods goes through the main launcher which is against both the point of the SKSE loader and Mod Organizer. You can definitely 'pirate' a mod however, as all Workshop shit uses the usual combo of both a .bsa and .esp each, so it's possible to just take the files, unsubscribe, and then put them through another mod manager.
  77. If you're using SE, Bethesda.net is probably even worse than the Workshop.
  78. --------------------------------
  79. #4 - THE MODS
  80. --------------------------------
  81. I am going to assume you use SKSE (script extender + memory heap increase) and SkyUI (not just for an objectively better interface but for MCM especially), ultimately the two most important additions to any Skyrim install ever. On top of that, I trust that you read the ReadMe and file descriptions after following any of these links to ensure that you meet the requirements and install them properly. Please take your time through this, don't rush for the lizard tits.
  82. Enough words, let's get to the core of it.
  83. I - ESSENTIALS
  84. These things are mostly boring on their own but kinda important.
  85. ---
  86. RaceMenu
  87. -Enhanced character creator
  88. It's like the SkyUI of the character creation menu, but goes a step further and allows tons more customization; including extra character customization potential in a tattoo system, extra menus, and more settings mods might add! What this means to Argonian players especially is that you may make your lizard the colors vanilla didn't you want to use, edit personal tail placement, and have overall more options in general.
  89. ---
  90. HDT Physics Extension
  91. -General physics enhancement framework for modders
  92. Required for boob/butt jiggle on your Argonian lass if you decide to create an HDT body via Bodyslide, amongst other things such as physics-based tails and Dragonborn-like (the D&D kind) tentacle hair you can find later in this guide. It will also require an XML or 'bounce kit' to see HDT physics work in action.
  93. You can see what mods require HDT PE on this page:
  94. -https://code.google.com/archive/p/hdt-pe/wikis/AddonMods.wiki
  95. ---
  96. XP32 Maximium Skeleton Extended (XPMSE)
  97. -General character skeletons made for compatibility
  98. -Provides more RaceMenu sliders in relation to scaling and animations
  99. The highest mod compatibility skeleton files you can get, allowing for many more extra character features from mods to even be a possibility. A must-have, use its installer to determine what skeleton files you need and it will install them. With HDT bodies easy to get going, you might as well use them over BBP.
  100. ---
  101. FNIS
  102. -Custom animations made possible
  103. Apparently custom animations are harder to get going for Skyrim than in Oblivion (gee thanks Todd!). Fore's work has made it more possible, but you need to run a generator tool; I suggest running it when you are done installing mods but before you start playing. Remember to tick SKELETON ARM FIX, and any other patches of other mods you might have installed (ie - TK Dodge/Ultimate Combat). There will be some additional setup for Mod Organizer users, check the STEP guide for more info.
  104. -----------*
  105. -----------*
  106. Except for children, a body mod will affect every humanoid of the one sex it's for. Yes, even the elderly.
  107. ---
  108. Bodyslide & Outfit Studio
  109. -Custom bodies for female characters
  110. -Has RaceMenu support for in-game customization
  111. Years ago you would've picked between either the UNP or CBBE female body types, which determines what clothing, armor, and especially textures you'd been able to use for your body shape. Then you had a fuckton of variants on top which your clothing/armor mods might've not supported. And while you still technically have to decide between the two, Bodyslide significantly blurs this line by allowing mod users to make their own custom body shapes AND create armor meshes that fit them! It also takes advantage of the weight slider, so you could do a petite to THICC thing or even skinny to obese (though the head meshes wouldn't reflect that change too well) depending on where it lands. Outfit Studio is used to further help convert armor/clothing mods from one body type to your prefered own if you want to learn it.
  112. I'd recommend using UUNP, but some mods you might want may support CBBE instead. You could create a flat-chested looking body for possible flat Argonian goodness, but it means that everyone else in Skyrim will be flat-chested too. You may use the RaceMenu sliders to make yourself flat whilst everyone else has regular tits, but still. I will point out that UUNP Special, which has a vagina modelled on it, won't exactly support Argonians out of the box; the texture blending tool that comes with Bodyslide is mostly there to put vagina textures (yes) on an otherwise empty part of the body textures, and I'm not sure if it will even patch theirs out of the box.
  113. Once you've picked either CBBE or UUNP, you'll need to make some new clothing and armor meshes with Bodyslide so their shapes conform to the body. The files below will get you started with converting vanilla and DLC clothes and armor without making it look like slut wear. Batch build helps a lot, and if you end up having both a regular and HDT option for a given armor piece selected when doing so, another window will pop with radio boxes asking you which version of the two you want.
  114. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59960/? (CBBE)
  115. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/85411 (UUNP)
  116. Dig around for more Bodyslide presets for your armor/clothing mods that also match your body. Thankfully big armor mods like Immersive Armors got coverage, so I'll just pop a link here for that if you use it.
  117. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/498-sos-schlongs-of-skyrim/
  118. -Third-party mods may offer female support
  119. The premiere dick physics mod is also treated as a general body replacer for men. You might be underwhelmed by how simple it is by comparison to Bodyslide, but it's definitely very much serviceable as a body mod itself. I should note that while the default three penises offered by the mod are human ones, you can install more kinds of dicks of different shapes. They won't work on females unless designed to do so.
  120. Shape Atlas for Men (SAM) is better as a body and offers much more options, but doesn't have the same level of compatibility with other mods and is now not as easy to come by.
  121. ---
  122. Other Schlongs
  123. You can search for some others on LL, but here's some worth pointing out.
  124. Bad Dog's Hoodie Schlongs has an Argonian penis that hides in a slit when not erect, it also has a patch if you're using Drachis' Argonian retextures (more on that later). It is not fully animated but swaps the meshes when appropriate. Look into the requirements, it needs one extra mod to make it work proper so don't forget it if you're going to use it! It should be noted that at least one version of the mod came with body textures; if you don't want them and use Mod Organizer, just right-click the mod, go into Explorer, and manually delete the textures yourself.
  125. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2356-bad-dogs-hoodie-schlongs-khajiit-argonians-humanelf/
  126. There is also another lizard dick mod, though I don't think it looks very good, at least going by the dude's screenshots.
  127. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/692-sos-carloss32-lizard-addon/
  128. If you prefer the human-like penis instead, the ones that come with Schlongs of Skyrim should be fine, but if you want one on your female character then B3lisario offers you two options, they both have the same shape but have different means of using them.
  129. Integrated variant (configure via SOS' MCM)
  130. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/309-sos-schlong-for-females-unp/

  132. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2467-sos-schlong-for-females-and-equipable-schlong-bodyslide/
  133. FloppySOS may be used for better dick and ball physics. Haven't tried.
  134. If you wanted horsecock for whatever reason, there's..
  135. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/2348-evils-horse-penis-2-for-females/
  136. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/7177-sos-snake-cock-addon/
  137. ---
  138. SAM - Shape Atlas for Men
  139. -http://www.vectorplexus.com/index.php?/files/file/10-sam-shape-atlas-for-men/ (core, textures, regular + skimpy vanilla/DLC armor refits, Moonlight Tales compatibility)
  140. -http://www.vectorplexus.com/index.php?/files/file/19-hdt-bbb-bounce-for-sam/ (HDT physics addon)
  141. Finding this mod was like a wild goose chase, but finally here is something. If you're as gay as those dragonfags on /v/, this is the body replacer for you. Due to the more extreme shapes it does not enjoy the same level of compability like SoS, but you are at least covered when it comes to the base game and DLCs. Install the core, textures (the largest part), and armors.
  142. Have not personally tried using yet; with an unfortunate lack of documentation thanks to all the shifting around, you're pretty much on your own to figure all this out. A texture replacer is linked in the next category however!
  143. III - TEXTURES (BODY)
  144. Textures easily have the biggest visual effect on your Argonians, some are styled like vanilla while others go for a different aesthetic, and there are also some miscellaneous details that can be spruced up as well included. If you are using Bodyslide, use CBBE textures if you're using the CBBE-based files or UNP textures if you're using Unifed UNP. It should be obvious but I'm going to point that out since those bodies can pretty much be of any shape these days. This will also include SoS texture patchs for any relevant mods here.
  145. One thing I might note is that it seems to be very easy for Argonians to get texture seams on their wrists, ankles, and especially around the back of the neck. Unfortunately I don't believe there's a perfect combination and have no idea if different Bodyslide shapes and such will impact the result, so it's up to you to experiment and find something you're happy with. You can always use jewelry, clothing, or armor mods to hide them.
  146. This section is also where one of Mod Organizer's strengths come into play; you can just tick and untick these textures on and off, so it's very easy to test them out one by one. Because of that, do consider trying many of these for yourself and not just looking at the screenshots provided by the mod authors or their users that might have a crazy amount of ENB on top. My only real recommendation here really is making both sexes match up textures, but it's up to you.
  147. ---
  148. CBBE-CHSBHC-UNP-ADEC-Human Argonian Khajiit Texture-4096
  149. -Generic female textures
  150. AnTiWoMaAgNoT's textures are nothing fancy, but he provides textures for beast races and for all bodies too and also has a no-nipple version. if you absolutely cannot settle for any of the other retextures, you can try defaulting to these at worst. Definitely do not use the human/elf textures from here, there's many better ones.
  151. ---
  152. Revised Khajiit and Argonian Textures
  153. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/1810-revised-khajiit-and-argonian-textures-cbbe-new-unp-support/
  154. -CBBE supported, also has female SoS support
  155. At a glance, I'm not entirely sure on the differences that EvilReFlex's textures have over AnTiWoMa-whatever's and never looked at them both in Photoshop. Other than maybe the nipples and possibly making some minor adjustments for making female SoS addon more seamless, which it has a patch for anyway. Given how they're not part of an all-round generalist set of textures, in subtle ways they're probably the better option if your Bodyslide body isn't using UUNP.
  156. A UNP version was allegedly made, but is long-gone.
  157. ---
  158. Drachis Argonians
  159. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/981
  160. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57070
  161. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57075
  162. -Original mod on hiatus; SoS & CBBE support done by fans
  163. One of the oldest Argonian retextures, this particular retexture still enjoys some popularity. Notably, it gives Argonians a more dragon-like aesthetic, looking much more rugged than vanilla. This is definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but you may or may not like it; the mugshot previews on the original's page aren't a great example though. The author appears to be looking at releasing a new version sometime.
  164. The male body textures for SOS is now hidden for some reason, if the original mod causes problems on that body type then contact me for the textures. Otherwise for best installation, install them all in the listed order. I forgot if the head textures for males only come in the original release.
  165. As for the CBBE textures, they're supposedly built-off the Feminine Textures from two slots below, and I don't think the lighting really does a good job at showing off these either. While UNP textures are listed in the 'older files' there, try avoiding using those; I've used them in the past and the face texture was misaligned a bit badly, especially the nostrills. Maybe they're fixed in the latest CBBE release, I dunno. You could take them from that.
  166. ---
  167. FAR - Forgotten Argonian Roots
  168. -Different, alternative style compared to vanilla
  169. Like Drachis, FAR looks a bit more different than vanilla but hasn't gone away from it completely. The men look more like crocodiles and the females more like snakes, with both now a slightly lighter color than usual. Females have three different options, two of them being the optional Anaconda and Cobra patterns. I don't think either have nipples.
  170. If you want my ten cents, I recall having some serious texture seam issues that unfortunately felt a bit more jarring than most others. You're free to try them for yourself, it also depends on how much skin you intend to show too.
  171. ---
  172. Feminine/Masculine Argonian Textures
  173. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/70164 (Male, Vanilla/SOS)
  174. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62574 (Female, UNP/CBBE)
  175. -http://www.vectorplexus.com/index.php?/files/file/8-masculine-argonian-texture-for-sam-half-overhaul (Male, SAM)
  176. -Male and female textures with more exposed chests
  177. These textures are a bit more different than the rest, with the chest and belly looking very smooth, giving a more skin-like appearance. The mod author has provided a fair bit of variation for both sexes; you choose if you want the normal or 'chameleon' (rainbow) colored scales, and then three more after that; it's effectively either a smoother chest or more scales, with the latter having a variant with more defined abs. The author however did update the mod to provide a fully-scaled chest for females that also lacks nipples, men are lucked out but chances are barafags won't care either way. The author also provides a Khajiit equivalent pair of mods.
  178. Texture seams do exist, but they're not that bad and everything at least on UUNP seems to be lined up right. In practice, the normalmap textures provided seem to make the women a bit shiny at least, but I do suggest trying this out in-game and seeing for yourself. If you want to be a fairly colorful Argonian and get away with it, use this.
  179. The SAM version is in turn an edit of another person's own from the Nexus, and includes both the regular and 'chameleon' style.
  180. ---
  181. Female/Male Dragonic Argonian Textures
  182. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/76127 (Male, SOS only)
  183. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75826 (Female, UNP/CBBE)
  184. -2048x2048 and 4096x4096 only
  185. These textures prominently feature a pattern of smaller and finer scales all over the Argonian body. Though it makes the bodies look a bit more rougher in appearance, the chest and inner arms/legs are softer than the rest of the body, and there are no nipples to be found on either sex. In contrast to the previous mod, these probably work better with neutral or less saturated body colors because of the detail involved.
  186. Though parts of head texture on females may not look very pretty, and that changing complexion to 1 looks worse, it's not a bad set of textures for females overall, and the seams aren't terrible either. The male version of the textures however is where the author's work truly shines, even if they have some more noticeable seams I think this is probably the best set of textures you can get for them. That does not invalidate your other options though, pick what you like.
  187. The only schlong supported by the male textures is the VectorPlexus Regular, one of the stock schlongs bundled in the SOS installer.
  188. ---
  189. SOS Female Textures (+ Pack)
  190. -https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kEBRKnaueXTg5qQg84miv_caKZebPDUW (Mirror)
  191. -Penis textures to match various female texture packs
  192. These are specific female Argonian SOS textures to help B3lisario's schlongs for female characters blend in with the Feminine Argonian and Female Dragonic Argonian packs above if you want your futa. There's also a horsecock retexure if you're into that, working with the one linked above earlier for completion's sake.
  193. Not only did the author hide the file away from the Nexus, but it was also gone from Loverslab as well and it's been a wild goose chase since. Hopefully the current source website is relevant for a while yet.
  194. ---
  195. Argonian Snake Texture
  196. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/8248-argonian-snake-texture/
  197. -UNP + CBBE supported, SoS Females
  198. Perhaps the most drastic retexture linked here, this pretty much turns your Argonians into Burmese pythons. Try pairing it up with a custom race using the Argonian as a base alongside mods like Argonian Female Redefined if you want to run a snaketits character.
  199. At this time of writing the author has not yet created any male textures for the mod, but has shown some intent.
  200. ---
  201. Of the lot here, the textures that have the least support with niche mods would be FAR. Masculine/Feminine, Dragonic, and Drachis seem to more throughout support for such things here and there. Anything designed around vanilla won't have much problem if you stick with its style.
  202. -One /tesg/ anon provided me CBBE Argonian textures with fixed footseams, I believe they're based off those 'Revised' textures. These only edit the main body textures, so grab those too for the foot and hand textures!
  203. -https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3XueZDrb8__STV1WktYc0pEbFk/view
  204. -If anyone has any nipple-less texture edits they are keen on sharing, do tell as some might be eager for them.
  205. -HD Argonian Mouth is now a hidden mod that redirects people to another hidden mod, so it was removed.
  206. -'A Beast Race Beautiful' is an older CBBE texture pack for Argonians and Khajiit, the former being last updated in 2013. These have a smoother although scaled chest, but you will get some very shiny lizard girls with their normalmaps as-is. You can find a link later down, because it has another file that does something neat too.
  207. -Xenius' Better Beast Races improvises vanilla Argonian textures if you are still using vanilla bodies, but it's an old mod that was also released before Bethesda whipped out the official HD textures. Considering that female bodies especially now have a lot more put into them but also especially their installation, this might work for a quick solution for those who can't be bothered, although some of the above retextures also do cover vanilla's body shapes.
  208. IV - TEXTURES (MISC)
  209. The body texture doesn't exactly cover everything, so here are additional textures.
  210. ---
  211. Argonians Enhanced
  212. -Eyes, hairstyles, mouth, scars, and more
  213. The former HD Argonian Hairstyle mod has been bundled into this project, which can now be found here as part of a handful of separate downloads that include other improvements.
  214. There is also a compatibility patch to go with the Dragonic textures. Though this mod does cover a lot of ground, there are still other options below if you want to take a look.
  215. ---
  216. Argonian Horn Improvement
  217. -Higher res horns
  218. Not much to say about this one. It makes your horns and the ornaments that might be on them look way better than they do in vanilla.
  219. ---
  220. Argonian Vampire Eyes - Dawnguard
  221. -Changes eye textures for Argonian vampires
  222. Are you disappointed with how the other races got different, glowing vampire eyes in Dawnguard? Here's some matching textures for Argonians so you're not left out.
  223. ---
  224. 83 Willows WHITER TEETH 4ALL
  225. -Mouth texture improvements for all beasts
  226. This texture mod gives your beasties' mouths much more color and whitens their teeth. An overall improvement from vanilla either way, and an alternative to the mod at the top. M. Bison would be proud.
  227. ---
  228. High Res Tints for Beasts
  229. -2k dirt & warpaint tints
  230. If you are using 'iTintTextureResolution=2048' in your skse.ini file, your lower res dirt and warpaints will appear more pixelated, which for Argonians might be a problem because your head is Xbox HUEG compared to other races and thus makes it easily noticeable.
  231. XCE - Warpaint & Dirt may also cover Argonian tints as well, but I haven't really used it for Argonians themselves.
  232. ---
  233. Natural Eyes
  234. -Eye texture replacement
  235. I haven't had much experience with eye mods. This one just works as a straight-up 'improvement' of sorts and is what I use. Don't write off other eye mods completely, as they might have some other neat ones.
  236. ---
  237. The Eyes of Beauty
  238. -Eye texture replacement
  239. Yes, another eye texture mod with Argonian support. Probably because it's easier to do?
  240. ---
  241. Argonian-Khajiit FabULook Eyes Standalone
  242. -New eyes
  243. This one is a bit different and instead expands on your eye selection. Was recommended by a reader.
  244. V - FEET/LEGS
  245. With Argonians sharing the same hands and feet as every other race, some modders have tried their hand at making more fitting feet for our reptile friends. Considering different modders have different approaches to how the feet should look, which may involve use of different bodies, textures, altered shoes/boots, etc - you should not expect any miracles in the compatibility department at all, let alone anything Morrowind-like. Now that would be a fucking pain in the ass to develop, especially in motion.
  246. It may be worth bringing up that real life reptiles are plantigrade, on the other hand those same lizards aren't exactly sentient peoples. And human-shaped feet certainly don't fit either way, so we gotta have something. But sadly, a lot of these haven't been updated since 2013.
  247. ---
  248. Raptor Feet
  249. -Sorta digitigrade with raptor-like talons
  250. The original Argonian feet mod for Skyrim that got first blood. You may find some textures compatible with your bodies that are made by other people as well as all kinds of patches, but I have no idea how this looks with something made from Bodyslide.
  251. ---
  252. Repitilian Feet
  253. -Clawed plantigrade feet
  254. If you just wanted clawed feet without any extreme stylish makeovers, this is probably the best solution as far as compatibility goes in my opinion, while it also ships with a few pieces of open footwear being compatible.
  255. While these are designed for the vanilla body, other bodies shouldn't have too many issues at a glance, speaking from experience. But there is one notable quirk though: the ankles will look fucking weird when they bend. From the bottom, the feet also look like dogshit and are flat without much detail at all. I really hope somebody picks up the mod and resolves these issues, since this is probably the better mod for practical use otherwise (and without making the notion of wearing any boots casually look as ridiculous).
  256. ---
  257. Grimoa's Plantigrade Feet
  258. -Plantigrade beast race feet
  259. Half-finished in the shoes department. There's not much to say about this, but it's there.
  260. ---
  261. Morrowind Style Argonians
  262. -Digitigrade legs
  263. This gives Argonians a bit of an overhaul, but if you want Morrowind-style legs then you're going to be interested in this anyway. Because it gives female Argonians a flat chest, edits armor, and seems to only cover so many kinds of boots, do not expect a ton of compatibility with other mods.
  264. VI - HAIR, HELMETS, WARPAINT
  265. Some extra stuff to compliment the existing selection of horns and feathers you're stuck with, and improvising your appearance even with a helmet equipped. If you're looking for hair textures for the default Argonian hairs, you've zoomed right past them.
  266. ---
  267. Argonian Fins
  268. -New hairstyles
  269. Did you miss the fins from the other games? This provides one style you can use, matching your Argonian's body color. There may be a mis-match with other texture mods, so experiment with coloring and see how it looks on your character.
  270. ---
  271. Dread Tentacles
  272. -One new HDT hairstyle
  273. Gives you a hair option inspired from the Dragonborn from Dungeons & Dragons, complete with HDT physics. In the latest version will show up even with a helmet on, which works well with the helmet mod below.
  274. Again, experiment with colors to avoid discoloring.
  275. ---
  276. Horns are Forever
  277. -Edits vanilla hair partitions
  278. This edits the vanilla hairstyles as such so that your horns won't disappear when wearing headgear that isn't considered full-faced (they replace your entire head mesh regardless), so they'll clip through instead. This is completely up to preference and may look bad with some headgear while it's likely to look great for others, like hoods or some more plain-looking helmets.
  279. ---
  280. Improved Closefaced Helmets
  281. -Converts all full-faced helmets in vanilla/DLC into open-faced ones
  282. As somebody who likes using both Argonians and some full-on armor, this is a personal favorite of mine. Every full-faced helmet and mask from the original game and DLCs goes from replacing your entire head into a helmet where your head and face are made visible, and parts of it can be seen from the eye holes and other openings. The best part about it is that the mod author has also fully supported both Argonians and Khajiit from the start.
  283. It also supports any armor retextures you throw at it, like those from aMidianBorn's Book of Silence. If you use Warmonger Armory, this guy has also provided a beast race compatibility patch for that mod.
  284. ---
  285. Unisex Argonian Hairstyles
  286. -Male hairstyles on female Argonians and vice-versa
  287. What it says on the tin. Take note that you're going to get some discoloration at the base of the horns from using the 'wrong' hairstyle.
  288. ---
  289. Radioreggae's Hair Workshop for Argonian
  290. -https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=268991411
  291. Unfortunately a Workshop-only mod. May need to get the BSA/ESP reuploaded somewhere else.
  292. That aside, it gives you an additional variety of horn-styles (and a LOT of horns too) to choose from, as well as one with hair. Problem is that you may have to make characters around the horns you choose; they look nothing like vanilla's own.
  293. ---
  294. Dashing Argonian Featherstyles
  295. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/4238-dashing-argonian-featherstyles/
  296. If you like decorative feathers but think the vanilla options don't provide enough, this increases their density. There are new horn textures in there too mind you, which you may not want; either load it earlier than your horn textures in Mod Organizer, or delete them from the mod entirely.
  297. ---
  298. Beast Race Bodypaints
  299. -Argonian (and Khajiit) warpaints
  300. This gives the beast races more warpaints to choose from, for Argonians there's a few new patterns and it notably has a bunch that are instead made to color in certain parts of the head, presumably designed around vanilla-style textures. As RaceMenu allows you to stack warpaints, creative use of this mod was very likely the intention.
  301. The 'tattoo' part of the mod is there to add some colored scales to bodies.
  302. ---
  303. KS Hairdos for Argonians seems to be kill, or at least the Khajiit portion it also needs.
  304. 'Missing Horn Combo' is a hairstyle that combines many horn options in one for your spiky boy/girl.
  305. -----------*
  306. -----------*
  307. Other parts of the body we haven't covered yet.
  308. ---
  309. Better Claws and Gauntlets
  310. -Gives Argonians and Khajiit claws
  311. -May be merged into Bashed Patch to free plugin space
  312. So you may or may not have sorted out the whole feet thing. What about the claws? This is the go-to mod if you want to sort those out.
  313. While not explicitly SoS, UNP, or CBBE compatible in the description, the mod SEEMS to look fine on those bodies; supposedly only SAM has problems?
  314. ---
  315. Argonian Weight Slider Affected Tails
  316. -Tails that can vary in thickness
  317. This mod changes the thickness of every Argonian's tail depending on the weight slider, so they are sleeker on skinnier Argonians and fatter on larger ones, supporting both sexes. Two other optional downloads provide options on tail placement. While this pretty much does what the two mods below do, I'll have them still listed in the meantime and of course, this stuff is always largely subjective.
  318. A plugin is required for the tail meshes to be affected by the weight slider itself.
  319. ---
  320. BAT - Bigger Argonian Tails
  321. -Fattens the tail meshes
  322. Makes the tails fatter on every Argonian. It might look a bit weird with some retextures as well as with the ass jiggle from HDT, considering it covers up much of the ass but not all of it. The tail NIFs also do not have any of the edits that allow you to reposition it in RaceMenu, and depending how petite your character looks, you may have to look into something that moves the tail instead.
  323. ---
  324. Beast Race Beautiful Argonian Tail Mover
  325. -Moves the tail into the tailbone
  326. The base mod here may be centered on textures, but the optional files do provide a new tail mesh that moves it up into a position that's actually at the tail bone. Conflicts with the above mod and only works with female Argonians.
  327. ---
  328. -Dynamic Argonian Tail for SAM
  329. -http://www.vectorplexus.com/index.php?/files/file/11-dynamic-argonian-tail-for-sam/
  330. Changes the male Argonian tail to suit your body settings in SAM.
  331. ---
  332. HDT Dragon Tails
  333. -https://www.loverslab.com/topic/31787-hdt-dragon-tails/
  334. -Provides mesh replacement options for Argonian tails
  335. No, I'm not insisting that you make some generic monstergirl with a dragon tail, but rather you should consider download the optional, standalone files that replace the Argonian tails if you're willing to experiment. These are all HDT tails, so they use HDT PE and have physics. 'Alternate Mesh Replacer' is the stock tail but with HDT physics and there's a similar one with higher tail placement. A thicker tail equivalent like the above mod also exists.
  336. After playing around with this, it doesn't necessarily look bad in action, but an instant 180 turnaround will cause the tail to spaz out for a little as it reacts better to smoother movement. 360 Walk and Run Plus might be able to minimize this issue, but the tail still has some issues beyond that. It's a potentially performance-costing novelty that might wear off for you.
  337. Don't forget to get the tail-related XML provided by the author.
  338. ---
  339. Argonian Female Refined
  340. -https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3XueZDrb8__Zmp6Wk5KYmNMV2M/view (Mirror 1)
  341. -http://tes-game.ru/load/skyrim/modeli_tel/11700/50-1-0-14436 (Mirror 2)
  342. This mod tweaks the Argonian female head meshes for a more angular appearance, and has an option to apply it to existing NPCs. This is pretty subjective and you may or may not like it. Can't recall if it fucks up with anything else during chargen.
  343. It was originally hosted on the Nexus but got removed, so I have reuploaded it to Google Drive.
  344. ---
  345. Brutish Argonian Male
  346. -http://www.vectorplexus.com/index.php?/files/file/5-brutish-argonian-male/
  347. -Has download to give all male Argonian NPCs the meshes
  348. Yet another mod that wasn't particular easy to find either, this mod gives Argonians a head tweak that looks a lot more savage. Someone in the comments has explained the effects of each extra file available; the female fix is only relevant if you use the 'Argonian Brute' race. Some NPCs may have the meshes.
  349. ---
  350. There seems to be yet another tail mod, but one more concerned about just fixing a visual glitch around the anus. How different it actually is to the tail mover mod and if that also fixes this apparent problem I haven't looked into, so it's listed here for the sake of it existing.
  351. -----------*
  352. -----------*
  353. Stuff that may be worth bringing up to the kind of people who are reading this mod list.
  354. ---
  355. Tail Armors
  356. -Addon with stats or armor replacer
  357. Protection for the tail. I haven't looked into seeing how this actually works (be it replacing the tail with a version that's just got armor added on, or actually layering on it), but it's there.
  358. ---
  359. Wearable Dragon Horns And Tails
  360. -Equippable dragon parts
  361. I don't usually recommend stuff like this, but if you're really customizing your Argonian drastically, then you might find this useful.
  362. ---
  363. Gameplay wise, there isn't too much that makes Argonians more distinctive in gameplay considering Bethesda gutted out attributes. These ones aren't too bad if you just want a little extra something, but watch for other mods that edit race records.
  364. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/63354/? (Disparity)
  365. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61218/? (Imperious)
  366. Unexpected Blades features a few beast race-themed weapons, with the cleaver and sabre representing the Argonian part.
  367. There isn't really a whole lot in the tattoo department. This one here has a few Argonian-themed ones.
  368. Generic equipment mods and whatnot aren't really the scope of this guide, but one reader recommended Bandanas of Skyrim since 'bandanas do really look cute on lizards'. I suppose you can take his word for it?
  369. Some mods that make male Argonians bulkier rely on changing the male beast race skeleton. This conflicts with XPMSE, so check if the mod in question supports the same things or not or is based off a recent XPMSE version, or just go for SAM or something if you want /fit/ Argonian men.
  370. Some other mods I think may enhance your lizardman/grill experience that aren't Argonian specific.
  371. -----------*
  372. -----------*
  373. Nothing specific.
  374. ---
  375. We'll start with the three different mods for showing your body in first-person view, each with their own method of doing it. You will want to use a smaller NearDistance value to make your body and other close-up things look less buggy, but in turn it'll also cause Z-fighting, which is the flickering you might see on mountains distant in the view. Check the INI files provided by the mods as they may have some automatic NearDistance switching when appropriate.
  376. ---
  377. Enhanced Camera
  378. LogicDragon's mod, which is also available for other Bethsoft games, is the one I personally use and recommend; it's the most endorsed for a reason. With only an SKSE plugin and a simple INI file to configure it, the mod is very simple and easy to use and augments the existing FPV. Character animations that normally force you into third-person view can also be viewed from FPV as well, which indeed includes sex mods..
  379. If you don't want Skyrim's default first-person arms, you can toggle an option to use the third-person arms, which will also use the animations you are using. If you do want to keep using the original first-person arms consider downloading this fix, no idea if it'll be of any use for the others:
  380. Your other options are Immersive First Person View and The Joy of Perspective.
  381. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/6002
  382. ---
  383. Player Voicesets
  384. -Change the player's apparent voiceset (though not entirely it seems)
  385. Despite having a lot less NPC dialogue overall than every other race, no woman is ever going to revoice all the female Argonians to something else that sounds a lot less like a chainsmoker. This mod changes your character's combat grunts to another set of your choosing in-game, as well as some automatic call-outs you may turn off if you want. It won't change it fully though, if you for example surrender in Sexlab Defeat it'll use the yield shout from your race's default voiceset and not the one chosen on this. I consider this completely optional and up to preference.
  386. ---
  387. Live Another Life
  388. This alternate start mod starts the player in a cell of the Abandoned Prison and offers them a good variety of different starting locations with their own backstories through the statue of Mara, including fighting their way out if they want to.
  389. It is also modular, modders can add more possible starts/scenarios to LAL and so there's much more potential you can get out of it. New Beginnings gives you even more possible starts, and the author of Death Alternative/DAYMOYL made his Captured scenarios double as LAL starts. The guys who do Sexlab mods definitely did take notice of this, with 'Immerslave' bridging into slavery mods right from the start.
  390. If you want it, complement it with In Your Shadow to control dragon spawns and whether the character is considered Dragonborn or not.
  391. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71465/?
  392. This alternative start mod offers more controls via MCM menu before you start playing, and is probably better if you don't want much of a backstory behind your starts.
  393. II - SEX MODS
  394. I know somebody is going to ask about these. Go to LoversLab and get the Sexlab Framework, from here it's all preference. I will make one thing clear and it's that it's best used for the interactivity; use it to add and create some context behind your lewd encounters within your playthrough. If that sounds hot to you, go for it. But overall the animation quality is more or less jank.
  395. Find downloadable stuff that uses the framework here:
  396. -https://www.loverslab.com/forum/51-downloads-sexlab-framework/
  397. I think it's worth noting that the majority of Sexlab modding often involves BDSM content fueled by the Devious Devices framework, with a hint of bestiality on top. Don't expect much in the way of Argonian-specific mods at all let alone support, it took years for someone to finally get to refitting the Devious Devices gags for them. Download what you like, while it would be going outside the scope of this index I can give opinions on some mods through /scaly/ or that email address mentioned earlier. Should you use Sexlab, bear in mind that it and the mods utilizing it may be rather intensive on the game's fragile scripting engine. Devious Devices can be quite tough on it as well, so keep that in mind. They won't break the game, but they can be pretty busy.
  398. There is currently a mod to refit Devious Devices Assets + Expansion gear for Argonians and other beast races.
  399. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/4272-devious-devices-beast-race-refits-orcs/
  400. If you are interested in posing for screenshots and making WebMs, look into 0S. When set up the animation quality is generally better than what you can expect from a typical Sexlab session.
  401. -----------*
  402. -----------*
  403. Yeah, what about Skyrim's dragons? Some retextures are probably the best you'll be getting. Nobody wants to make things with more limbs because they're harder to animate, so traditional European-style dragons some are acquainted to are probably out of the question. There are Sexlab animations though, whether it's worth the effort to fuck a wyvern in the game is up to you.
  404. As far as custom races go, they're not as easy to create as they were in Oblivion. Don't expect to see playable scaly mods like D&D Dragonborn or Kobolds, or at least those of high quality. Even custom races of furry critters have to use the Khajiit as a base and it's very apparent. With modders dependent on RaceCompatibility and the overall higher graphics fidelty than Skyrim's predecessors, there's probably a good couple of reasons for it too.
  405. So far I've found only one option that stands out from the rest, and it's..
  406. ---
  407. The Selachii - Shark Race
  408. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/3368-the-selachii-shark-race/ (Full)
  409. -http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/84720/? ('Lite')
  410. -Males designed for SOS, both male/female schlong support
  411. -Requires 'SKSE - Register Custom Animation Events' and 'RaceCompatibility' (linked on mod page)
  412. Though whether they count as /scaly/ or not is something that is occasionally disputed, and that their fad has came and gone, this shark race is the closest you will get to a custom scaly race for now. Despite the use of screenshots showing off stereotypical sharkwig people, this mod is not half bad for something based on Argonians. Notice the lack of apparent body seams at the joints, and that it has full SOS schlong support - so nobody else has to do the textures for support. The piercings on the ears aren't permanent, but for some reason are tied to the 'Brow' option. It looks really weird without hair (even revealing a seam on the back for females) and in general might look creepy as fuck, but otherwise it's decently made for what it is.
  413. The racial bonuses are like a rather overpowered Nord/Argonian mix, but chances are you'll use a mod to make vanilla races less boring and more meaningful anyway. The 'full' version offers Bad Dog's Hoodie Schlong (sheathed SOS penis) and an optional follower plugin, which the 'Lite' version lacks (and possibly more due to how the author has worded it). The latter is simply on the Nexus though, which is one less account registration if you don't have an LL one already, but the former could be more up to date.
  414. ---
  415. One of the closest things to an anthro dragon race mod I've found was this pack that's pretty much a more hack-ish solution. Basically, you play an Argonian and type in a few console commands for the dragon tail and a spell that toggles wings. Going by the gallery, the author's Mountain Dew & Doritos packaging-colored characters seem to achieve reasonable results, albeit samey. The fact that this will overwrite a whole slew of files implies that it's going to potentially invasive on modding your own Argonians unless you redirect everything to a custom race. You could pretty much do a lot of this yourself, although the author did customize plenty of the meshes he uses.
  416. -https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/7827-argonian-to-anthro-dragon-tf-pack/
  417. Beyond that, Argonians could be reskinned dramatically for coverage of other reptiles (raptors, etc) if someone was up to the task.
  418. --------------------------------
  419. #6 - SCALE-FU
  420. --------------------------------
  421. Honestly there's not much to say here either. Considering you're looking into making a character of a fictional race that isn't human, you don't really have to worry about spending three hours on making a passable face. That being said though, you should definitely check out the sliders at your disposal. Other than mouth/nose shape and such, which is purely subjective, face complexion can have an impact on the appearance, but it's going to be different on various texture sets. If you want to make other parts of the head different colors, you can use this to help bring the color out more. Apart from that, you can try playing with warpaints and even tattoos to personalize them further.
  422. With RaceMenu, XPMSE, and Bodyslide, you should have a fuckton of extra sliders dedicated to tweaking body parts, especially for females. On top of that, RaceMenu practically allows you to pick any color you want instead of a select few like vanilla. As the rest of this guide insists, shape your Argonian the way you want it, there isn't really any 'right' way of doing this. The canon can't even decide on a single design either.
  423. You're on your own with the vertex editor.
  424. If you need to come up with fitting names, UESP has a page that documents every Argonian NPC name, it should help you get some ideas.
  425. Though there isn't a lot to go by, if it might be of any use to you here's an article on the Argonian language.
  426. Even if you may not use them, look into installing those hair/eye/etc mods, play with the color picker, and overall have some fun in the process of customizing your Argonian. You might find a combination that looks really neat. If you do, don't forget to save a RaceMenu preset! Be aware that it does not save the complexion setting if you adjusted it, but that's easily remedied by flicking what's basically an on/off switch if you do use it.
  427. --------------------------------
  428. #7 - CLOSING
  429. --------------------------------
  430. This started with a lot more stuff than I was expecting to write down initially, and I'm still glad there's the odd mod here and there to include every now and then. I hope you have found something that you like in here and found this pastebin helpful.

Article #6 in a 12-part series.

Is there anyway to install SOS for a cbbe hdt bodyslide body? Try to search for 'equipable schlongs', or 'strap-on cbbe' as alternative, but I. The second one is SOS (Schlongs of Skyrim) for females, which you. The bustier cbbe body?

(full res)

Skyrim adventurers need to look good when fighting dragons. Follow my post on beautifying Skyrim to help your characters look their best with improved scenery and lighting. If you’re new to mods or Skyrim, check out my first post in this series.

If nothing else, give “Enhanced Lighting and FX” (ELFX) a try. Some of my screenshots use “Seasons of Skyrim” ENB, but most are with a modified “RealVision” ENB and other mods listed in my “Pretty Skyrim” post. One technique to help light a character is to have the follower hold a torch. You may also use “Face Light” spells (2 levels of brightness) for gentle illumination. Think of it as like having a helper hold a reflector at a photoshoot. “Face Light” is an actual light, so remember to dispel it before sneaking or preforming criminal acts. Unless your intent is to get caught and look great in jail. Like in the real world, best results are captured near sunrise or sunset.

Installation note:

Here I share my choices on body mesh and texture replacers. For detailed steps on installing with breast-and-butt physics (BBP) or dual sheath support in the correct order, see my previous post. Swapping textures is safe, but installation and load order matter for custom skeleton and body mesh.

Beautiful persons

Cbbe Skyrim Body Mod

I felt the original men were ugly with odd proportions and blocky features, and the women a bit better. My choices in mods led to more naturally proportioned men and women with nicer textures. No cartoon-like persons for me. Smaller breasts fit better for athletic warriors. Sitting and walking less robotic helps, too. Let’s start with faces since that’s the first thing we look at when creating a new character.

Above images show a comparison of same character in original game on left and with modifications of skeleton, body, skin texture, and hair applied on right along with a lighting mod. The eyes in the images remain the same. Her modified hair is “Superior Lore-Friendly Hair - HD Textures” which takes the same hairstyles and upgrades them with better textures for women and men, some styles with new hair clips. For alternative hairstyles, take a look at “KS Hairdos - Renewel” for hundreds of options. The improved flesh texture is “Mature Skin 2” with large-pore and medium-face-age options.

For better eyes, try “The Eyes of Beauty” mod which includes optional file for vampires. Not just great for screenshots, you’ll appreciate the improvement during conversations. In the above images we have Ezekiel, Sarah, and Jenna the Vampire all with orbs from “The Eyes of Beauty” mod. Player and NPC updates come in separate files for convenience. If you don’t like the “Dawnguard” vampire eyes, “The Eyes of Beauty Dawnguard Update” is worth installing just for the detailed vampire eyes. No glow, however. Uncheck Babbette.esp in your load unless you notice Babbette vampire has eye trouble. Your game may suffer a bug losing intended vampire eyes (flat glow color or back to hazel instead of red). If you don’t use USKP, get “Vampire Eyes Fix” mod.

Also check out “Lind’s Human Eyes” and “Lind’s Elven Eyes” for options of larger pupil and some interesting iris colors including variations of purple.

Add a feminine touch with “Circlet Replacers for Women” which replaces all female circlets in game including fit for different races. Below is “Companion Selene Kate” showing alternate choices. Her face texture, eyebrows, and hair are from Hello Santa’s “SG Female Textures Renewal”, “SG Female Eyebrows”, and “SG Hairs.” Her circlet is from “KDCirclets” by zzjay.

I like “Better Males” “YoungerFacesMergedWithMenByGeonix” face with “Beards” retexture as shown on my characters, Ezekiel and Regulus, below. For “Brows” I went with standard resolution since it’s four times more detail than original.

This one has HD face. “Coverkhajiits” texture replacers update male and female Khajiit in hi-res or lite versions.

on in-game nudity

Skyrim Cbbe Armor

Body replacers generally come nude, but include underwear options.

Loin cloths work well for men, but in Skyrim the women get burlap bikinis. I think women should have skirts if not loin cloths, but that would leave them with burlap tops or bare. I’d be fine with topless character, but naked looks natural and more immersive. Nords bathe naked in the woods and aren’t shy when sitting in the sweat lodge.

TES II: Daggerfall included 2-D low-resolution, non-animated drawings of nude men and women, but Bethesda decided to cover up characters in later chapters. Even though TES V: Skryim is rated for mature, adult players, animated bare breasts would possibly cause an uproar in the USA. For some bizarre reason in this country, it is perfectly acceptable to view fictional depictions of extreme violence including gore, decapitation, and mutalation, but the public gets fussy over nudity including famous art.

I consider the body replacers, models, and textures for games as artwork. Not photo-realism. This is fantasy art. I fully support hard-working artists and enjoy their beautiful creations.

Pretty women

Women in Skyrim need to look more feminine. Why should they walk like men? I didn’t want cartoon-ish or voluptuous fantasy-body women; I wanted natural figures. After reviewing a few screenshots, I chose “Caliente’s Beautiful Bodies Edition” (CBBE) with the Slim option. Other choices include CBBE Curvy and CBBE Vanilla. Another popular body replacer is “DIMONIZED UNP female body” (UNP) also available in Curvy (UNPC) or Blessed (UNPB) with mods for BBP available.

For a natural appearance, “Mature Skin 2” texture comes with options for older face, freckles, and body scars. Pubic hair choices are natural, trim, and bare. The screen capture below shows v2.11 on a Nord along with rain drops.

Your vampire character with “Dawnguard” DLC may suffer from burnt (darker) face with normal body causing a mismatch. Spending too much time in sunlight burns flesh, and transforming into a Vampire Lord and back is the cure. After installing “Mature Skin” if head is burnt but body isn’t, force the face normal by copying over a pair of face texture files. Replace the two femaleheadvampire files with the matching femalehead files located in Skyrim/Data/textures/actors/character/female/ folder. Or, don’t go out in sunlight.

I didn’t think body physics update would make much difference to gameplay, but after trying it I realized the subtle details really improve immersion. Many of the flowing hair mods don’t look as nice, though, so I’m sticking with static high-res hair. A beautiful woman needs appropriate boob jiggle which means none wearing heavy armor and some bounce when dressed in cloth garment. Body and outfit support for breast-and-butt physics come with several acronyms: BBP, TBBP, and HDT-BBP. Sometimes BPP only includes breasts and is usually the simplest model. I chose to build CBBE HDT for Slim.

To support BBP/TBBP/HDT, I’m using “XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended 3” (XPMSE 3) and its requirements which include FNIS. As advised on the XPMSE description, install order matters to get boob jiggle working. Follow my tutorial which includes installing dual sheath and feminine walk.

Some leather armors and clothing come with (T)BBP support, and it’s possible to convert other outfits based on build settings with “BodySlide” using “Outfit Studio” converter.

The Dragonborn appears rigid and robotic while sitting and standing. You may fix this with simple replacers, “Pretty Female Idles” and “Pretty Sit Idle”. Both include choices with example pictures when installing using NMM. If you’d like the female characters to walk gracefully, you’ll need FNIS which supports many other animations. Then install “FNIS Sexy Move”. And no, not all walk styles are necessarily sexy. “Sexy Move” offers options in the MCM to ignore certain styles or remember walk style per character. I disabled the character-remember option (pre-v6.0 using “No need to remember NPC assignments”), because it uses number of coins in the inventory which seems like extra clutter. A different walk each meeting is fine with me. Version 6+ uses invisble coins to remember walk style.

Looking for improved NPC beauty? Check out the work by rxkx22 in “Bijin Warmaidens” and “Bijin NPCs”. Some of the characters end up looking a bit different, but many maintain resemblance. Lydia and Uthgerd, pictured below, still remind me of Lydia and Uthgerd. Installation options include entire pack or choose characters to update, and rxkx22 maintains older files for different appearance choices.

The men

I had more trouble deciding on body and texture mods for men. All are better than original so it comes down to features and personal preference. I believe I like “Better males” - “Sundracon” body mesh best. I find “FavoredSoul” out of proportion and cartoon-ish. Lover’s Lab (site includes adult ad images) “Schlongs of Skyrim” (SoS) has its merits, too. SoS supports “SexLab” framework, but it will work as a basic body replacer choosing the SoS - Light version. “DCE - Realistic Male Face” looks great with the “Sundracon” body with less seam. There’s also “Fine Face Textures for Men” to consider which includes texture update for the body to match.

The images above compare “Fine Face” on left with “DCE - Realistic Male Face” on right. Below is a comparison between SoS choices and “Better Males” - Sundracon replacer. Download tunnel korean drama eng sub.

If choosing “Fine Face” install body first and add “Fine Face Textures for Men” (variant 2_0b seems nice) and overwrite the body texture file for seamless neck.

The male Dragonborn may enjoy a more natural sit position with “Pretty Sit Idle”.

Choose a body:

  • Better males Sundracon or FavouredSoul
  • SoS at LoversLab (adult ads)

Choose a face:

  • Better males GeonoxFaces or YoungerFacesMerged
  • Fine Face Textures for Men by Urshi

How about improved beards textures?

Advanced character edit

More variations and face sculpting may be achived using “RaceMenu” by Expired. More sliders mean more possibilities, but also more complexity. It’s easy to go wrong crafting an elven face. Easy features in “RaceMenu” include the ability to add custom-made overlays for body paint, makeup, or adjust colors. The above image shows an example using minor editing with “RaceMenu” on male and female Altmer (High Elves). In particular, I wanted to tone down the greenish hue to a more golden bronze seen in older TES titles. I added freckles from “Freckle Mania” and some body paint. Using mostly sliders, and minor spot sculpting, I kept the classic TES Altmer feel with a fresh appearance.
